Heeding the Call of Self-care and Adventure

One more day is upon me and although                                              my wild heart speaks, my feet stay planted…

​Marriage, career and motherhood bring us much joy and satisfaction, but inevitably, for many of us the feeling that “something is missing” creeps in at some point in all our lives. It is often joined with a good dose of loneliness. We often try and ignore this inner calling as it is hard to justify when surrounded by family and loved ones. We must have all we need to be happy, after all, we are born to be caregivers... so we try to grow where we are planted. 

Each day my inner whisper grows louder,
​my wild heart grows more restless…

So many strong confident women doing amazing things each and every day, but sadly we disregard our inner voice, whispering YOU need “ME TIME” with a dash of “ADVENTURE”.

I feel connected to this topic because I am this woman. She Ascends was created to help women realize that we cannot ASCEND to our true authentic selves without learning to trust our inner voices. Life will unfold regardless if we take control of the trajectory or not. We have a choice, we can manifest with our eyes wide open, creating strong concentrated thoughts and actions that bring us to the life we desire or we allow “in action” to create a life that simply feels like it is happening to us. 

Come to teach, Come to be taught…

Self-care is a hard practice for me. In order to keep growing, I need to carve out personal time and I need others to help and guide me. In each of us is the ability to help one another find meaning and purpose. Through sharing what we know and allowing others to share their personal knowledge, we are able to compare and reflect our findings from our "search within" with our "search outward". This process is the healthy practice of self-awareness.  As we become more self-aware, we grow into our authentic selves. 

Today I need to allow myself to Adventure…

Adventuring should put us in a state of uncomfortable; it should challenge and excite us. It should be totally different from our normal and ordinary life. Adventuring involves trying out something new in life. People that adventure are more resilient, are more likely to have positive outlooks on life, and are able to release stress faster than people who do not adventure.  Simply put, adventuring makes you happier. 
 
When working with Maggie on our SA Gratitude Adventure, I was privileged to see and hear her desire to create a very special Road Trip - one that would expand and broaden minds and help participants learn new and unique things about themselves and the women adventuring with them.  Maggie understands the importance of integrating a gratitude practice into one’s life. Through her gratitude lens she has created an adventure grounded in deepening your gratitude practice through self-reflection, amazing locations, and creating and strengthening relationship with like-minded women.

 Adding Kathleen as a host just made sense as her experience with gratitude practice will help you strengthen your own practice. Kathleen will lead you in some self-reflections and invite you to explore nature in a personal, unique way.  These two women are amazing!  They are the embodiment of She Ascends. They are hosting this adventure because they know by helping others, they help themselves to Ascend.

My life is richer, bolder, and more complete through my experiences with She Ascends.  I have met, hiked with, and now I have the honor of working alongside strong, empowered women who know empowered women empower women.
